Duration Accessible at any time during academic year

This standalone course is run by the Researcher Academy

The Researcher Academy courses are very popular and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you.

Target Audience: Researchers of all career stages and disciplines

Description:

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to data analysis with R, covering essential techniques, popular packages, and best practices. We will explore data manipulation, visualization, and statistical modeling, using real-world datasets to illustrate key concepts.

Topics covered include:

  1. Fundamentals of R: Data structures, import/export, and basic operations.
  1. Data Wrangling: Mastering data manipulation with dplyr, tidyr, and stringr.
  1. Visualization: Creating insightful plots with ggplot2, including customization and faceting.
  1. Statistical Analysis: Hypothesis testing, t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and regression.
  1. Advanced Techniques: Multiple regression, interactions, model selection and time series analysis.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Confidently use R for data analysis tasks.
  • Apply various data manipulation and visualization techniques.
  • Perform statistical analyses and interpret results.
  • Communicate findings effectively through clear visualizations and reports.

This course is designed for beginners with little to no prior experience with R. It is also suitable for those who want to refresh their R skills and learn modern data analysis techniques.
